    Poinsettias are attractive house plants that boast large red 'bracts' in December and January, making them the perfect floral decoration for Christmas.

    Poinsettias can be difficult to keep alive after Christmas, however with care and attention it is possible to keep your poinsettia alive throughout the year. They require a warm environment so keep in a room with a temperature of 13-15°C. Water sparingly, only when the surface of the compost has started to dry out. Mist regularly and keep in bright, indirect light, in a draught-free spot. After Christmas, feed monthly with a high potash liquid feed, such as a tomato feed.
