These little gems are some of the first bulbs to poke their heads above the soil in the new year, with large goblet-shaped flowers surrounded by narrow grass-like leaves.

Petals shine like satin, opening almost flat on bright days to bask in the wintery sun revealing saffron coloured, pollen rich centres that are loved by bees brave enough to forage during the coldest months.

This lovely Crocus looks great planted in large groups in shallow pots as well as in grassy areas, under trees and borders.
