    A favourite cottage garden plant in a traditional pink and white combination, the Pink Lupin will add height to the back of flowerbeds or, for and unusual, contemporary planting scheme, try dotting them amongst long grasses.

    Their spears of pea-like blooms are a favourite of bumblebees and unfortunately also slugs so stay vigilant and when plants are still young.

    Lupins grow better in the ground and planting them in containers cause them to grow weakly and thus are more susceptible to aphid attacks.

    Please note that all our plants come in simple plastic pots unless otherwise stated in the product name. If you wish to pot yours up we do have a wide range of pots to choose from.

    • - Lupins appreciate full sun to partial shade and moist but well-drained soil and a sheltered position to protect their tall stems. Lupins grow better in the ground and planting them in containers cause them to grow weakly and thus are more susceptible to aphid attacks. Be vigilant of slugs and snails whilst plants are still young - try using copper tape, crushed eggshells or wildlife-friendly slug pellets to deter them. The grey lupin aphid can also be a problem for lupins and you should remove the infested flower spikes if the aphids appear not to be abating.
