Pieris 'Scarlet O'Hara' is a compact, evergreen shrub which emerges red and changes to pink, then cream and finally to green as it reaches maturity. The bell-shaped flowers, which resemble those of the lily-of-the-valley plant, are small and white and bloom early spring. It grows well in an acidic, humus-rich soil. Plant it in pots and containers or beds and borders for a stunning display.
