Heartsease, otherwise known as Wild Pansy, is a charming and prolific hardy annual. Producing deeply cut, round-lobed foliage and small blooms variably patterned with purple, Purple and yellow throughout summer to winter. Self-seeding freely, Heartsease is perfect for naturalising your garden. Boasting a compact habit, this wild flower is perfect for rockeries, walls, and pathway edging. Height: Up to 23cm (9-inches).

Culinary note: The petals of Heartsease are edible. The petals can be used on top of salads or even used to make Purple soup. Alternatively, they can be crystallised to use as cake decorations.
