Beware the monster houseplants!

A lot of the time, plants get eaten by animals, but some houseplants are meat eaters too! They’re called carnivorous plants because they need more than water to grow. They eat the bugs around our homes!

Here are three monster houseplants you can find in a garden centre

Special power – They attract insects with their bright colours and trap them in pools at the bottom of their leaves

Special power – Its colourful tentacles have a glue that looks like water. Thirsty bugs get caught and it rolls up to catch them

Special power – When an insect touches the tiny hairs on its leaves, they quickly close, trapping them inside
