  • Quality compost – either bulb or multi-purpose will do

How to create a hyacinth centrepiece: step-by-step guide

  1. First start by adding your compost to your pot, filling it just below the top

  1. Next, make holes in the compost deep enough to plant your hyacinths, leaving around 2 inches between each space. We’ve planted 4 hyacinths in our pot, but you can do less or more depending on the size of your planter

  1. Plant your hyacinths, filling in any gaps with more compost

  1. Water the soil well, then place your container in the centre of your table

Top tip: You can recreate this centrepiece using any other variety of your favourite spring flowering bulbs.
