How to create a hyacinth centrepiece
Hyacinths are elegant flowers that can be grown inside or outdoors, known for their fragrant blooms and vibrant colours. These classic seasonal flowers bloom for as long as 4 weeks, making them the perfect way to add both beauty and fragrance to your home as we transition into spring. This step-by-step guide will show you exactly how to create an easy, stunning hyacinth centrepiece.
You wil need:
A wide pot
Quality compost – either bulb or multi-purpose will do
How to create a hyacinth centrepiece: step-by-step guide
First start by adding your compost to your pot, filling it just below the top
Next, make holes in the compost deep enough to plant your hyacinths, leaving around 2 inches between each space. We’ve planted 4 hyacinths in our pot, but you can do less or more depending on the size of your planter
Plant your hyacinths, filling in any gaps with more compost
Water the soil well, then place your container in the centre of your table
Top tip: You can recreate this centrepiece using any other variety of your favourite spring flowering bulbs.
