Create garden creature pebbles

After exploring the cool creatures that call our gardens home, have fun creating some creatures of your very own using paint and pebbles. What a wonderful way to add some colour to your garden this summer

creature pebbles materials

Before getting started, you’ll need:

  • Smooth, round pebbles or stones
  • Acrylic paint in a variety of colours (red, white, black, yellow, and green)
  • Small paintbrush
  • White PVA glue
pebble ladybird

There are so many marvellous minibeasts that you can create, but first, let’s learn how to paint a lovely ladybird:

  1. Paint your pebble red
  2. Paint a black line down the centre and a semi-circle on one end of the pebble. This will be your ladybird’s face
  3. Add some black spots on either side of the black line
  4. Use black and white paint to add some eyes onto the ladybird’s face
  5. Once dry, coat your entire pebble with white PVA glue. This will make it waterproof and stop the paint from coming off

Some other pebble creatures you can create include:

  • Worm
  • Snail
  • Spider
  • Beetle
