Just breathe bubble blower

Just Breathe Bubble Blower

Paying attention to our breath can be one of the easiest and most effective ways of practising mindfulness. With this activity, you can create your very own giant bubble blower. If you breathe quickly, you’ll blow lots of smaller bubbles. If you take it slow and breathe deeply, you’ll be able to blow massive bubbles

Bubble blower materials

You’ll need:

  • Paper straw
  • Paper cup (large is best, but small will work too)
  • Drawing pin
  • Scissors
  • Sellotape
  • A bowl or container larger than your cup
  • Washing-up liquid
  • Water
Bubble blower steps

Let’s get started:

  1. First, take your straw and cut it in half so that it’s not too long. You might need an adult to help with this

  2. Poke a hole in the side of your cup with the drawing pin. It’s best if the hole is near to the bottom of the cup
  3. Next, you need to make the hole a little bigger with the scissors. Again, you might need an adult to help with this
Bubble blower steps
  1. Push the straw through the hole so that it is about halfway through the cup. Be sure to put Sellotape all the way around to make it secure and stop air escaping at the sides
  2. Pour some washing-up liquid into the bowl and then slowly add water and gently stir
  3. Take your bubble blower and turn it upside down into the bubble mixture

  4. Take a deep breath and blow! The slower you breathe, the bigger your bubbles will be

We can’t wait to see how big you can make your bubbles! Don’t forget to take photos and tag us using #DobbiesLittleSeedlings
