Garden composting

One of the main ways people recycle in the garden is by composting. This is when you can turn food waste and other scraps into soil that’s full of nutrients. Then you add it to your plants to help them grow.If you want to find out more about composting, read all about it here.

Pot recycling

Plastic is one of the hardest things to recycle and lots of pots are made from it.

There are lots of things you can use from your own household waste for planting in, such as:

  • Tin cans
  • Drink bottles
  • Glass jars
  • Old shoes and wellies
  • Some people even use toilets!

We offer a free plastic plant pot return service – bring your old plastic plant pots to your nearest store and we'll ensure that they don't end up in landfill. Find out more here.
