Knautia Macedonica Melton Pastels' blooms, which are reminiscent of pincushions, will brighten up your garden with its prolific flowering in shades of pink rose and crimson.

The fuzzy flowerheads are a mixture of blueish-purple and white toned petals and stamens on stems over tight foliage.

Jasione laevis make for great edging or ground cover plants due to their thick cushions of foliage but would also make a vibrant pot display on patios and balconies.

Low maintenance plants, Knautia Macedonica prefers only moderately-fertile, well-drained, preferably alkaline soil and to be positioned in full sun. This perennial dies back to below ground level each year in autumn, then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

TIP: support them with twiggy pea sticks before the flowers appear, since they has a tendency to sprawl. This plant is susceptible to powdery mildew. To help prevent this, mulch with well-rotted manure or compost in autumn and keep it well watered.
